jcollins is right maco is good its a 110 preamp plugs in wall i have knowen people with them they really like them alot say less static hope this helps. later

Alright. I assume it's the Maco 150. I also looked at the Dosey model as well.
Do you know if either of these will pick up the amplifier fan and send the noise to the radio?

Just went to order a Maco 150 and the tech said no, they are for small radios. Anything more than 15 watts and they blow. My radio swings 33 and he said it would not work. A Maco 300 would do the job but I guess they are hard to find. He told me MFJ just came out with a unit that will take 160 watts, sold several and the folks are pleased. Anybody know anything about it????

they are rated for 150 watts AM and 250 SSB
