AM carrier on Cobra 146GTL while transmitting on SSB

I have a Cobra 146GTL that has a weak AM carrier while in transmit on both USB & LSB. I have null-ed out as much of the AM carrier as I can by adjusting the AM Carrier Balance. Are there more procedures to completely eliminate the AM carrier while transmitting on SSB. Please Help! Thank You, Ron
