Frequency Counter For The General Lee

Am I going to want a frequency counter with the General? What do ya think? Does our man RadioActive sell them if the answer is yes? Or maybe I can find a kit online and build one! Hmmmmmm, this is all toooo exciting!

Yes he does. a Galaxy model and a RCI model both around the same price I think.

Yup, go for the Texas Ranger FC390. I got one from RA and it's very cool! Just plug it in the back of the General and it works. Even turns on and off with the radio. Plug and play ...

As I recall it was about $50 ... I ordered it with several other things so I'm not positive. I do know it was the best price I had found for it. Make sure you ask for the BLUE display one so it goes nice with that General Lee's lights.

say loudmouth, you think that fc-390 would plug into a connex 4300-300.??? where does it plug into in the back of the radio.?? i had a fc-390 and it had instructions on how to hook it up internally so i got rid of it. guess i should of got it from ra.

I'm pretty sure all Connex radios have the connector on the back for a frequency counter. The FC390 plugs right into it. It also comes with an extra harness and instructions so it can be hard wired to radios that don't have the connector.

Just look at the back of your radio. The connector is flat and about 3/4" wide.

I was comparing the general lee with the galaxy DX66V because its an AM radio with built in frequency counter.

The price for the DX66V seems about the same as a general lee + external counter.
But i am unsure if the DX66V can do 50watts transmit like the general lee, anyone know?
Or maybe the DX66V is unavailable in the cool blue.

I suppose the choice is if you prefer an internal or external freq counter, or the style of S-meter you want.

Maybe thats why they came out with the 98VHP, but i am guessing thats a lot more expensive.

loudmouth,the connex 4300-300 has the freq. counter plug in the back. :D i pretty much know my way around the bands but i do like the freq. counter. im ordering me one tomorow from ra. my galaxy dx95t2 has a good meter and a 6 digit freq, counter.

I've got a 3300HP with the blue freq counter FC30-BT.....Looks cool at night. Anyway, I bought mine from a cb shop for $60, and the cb shop unplugged it from a 4300-300 display model he had setup.
